Kid ya career

Interesting debate and a long standing one too!!
Almost every career women goes through this dilemma in her life and has some amount of guilt associated with it as well. The key here is to strike a balance between our personal aspirations and the expectations of our loved ones from us. Being a mother is a great pleasure and an equally daunting responsibility and at the end of the day its all about satisfying ourselves that we are doing the best we can be it on the career front or being a mother.

If a female has decent support system in place which ensures a safe and warm upbringing to the child, no need for this "sacrifice" but if thats missing kids should take a priority because thats a God send opportunity of nurturing another life which might not come again in life while a career can be rebuild. Being in a similar situation years back and having the satisfaction of handling it in the best possible manner, i am also of the opinion that its not necessary to spend all the time on husband and kids to be a responsible wife or mother. Support systems can be built and multiple responsibilities can be handled. We females have a great boon to multitask and still give everything and everyone the desired focus.
Its your life, your choice.
Its not a sacrifice . why should it be if you have wonderful children and a loving and supportive husband around?
however, if this feeling does not come from your heart , please don't 'sacrifice ' your career.
Life is meant to be lived happily and at the same time it requires a lot of balances and checks .  ask yourself when you are alone , ask repeatedly what you really want and once you get the answer , go for it .Just make sure you really want it and you are ready to sacrifice everything else for it.  Everything else will then take care of itself.
Enjoy.
