Gather the light, let the shadows go

My dear sons, Find laughter in the dance of rain, In whispered winds and windowpane. Let simple joys, like morning’s hue, Paint every shade of life for you. Be grateful for each fleeting spark, A tender hand, a gentle mark. For smiles you find along the way, Are stars that light your darkest day. When sorrow knocks with heavy tread, Let it pass—don’t make its bed. But when kindness sings soft and true, Hold it close—it belongs with you. Life will weave both thorn and bloom, Some days will glow, some days will gloom. But walk with hope, through loss and gain, And light will always know your name. Daya Nair🫶

Beyond Blood

Not born of blood, yet bound so tight, A hand that lifts in darkest night. No call for reason, no need for gain, Just love that soothes like gentle rain. Through storms that shake, through winds that wail, A voice that asks if I’m hungry, pale. No miles can break, no time can fade, This bond, this love, so deeply laid. No reason, no cause, yet they stay, In silent love, come what may. Not bound by blood, yet always near, A hand to hold, a voice so clear. No debt to pay, no score to keep, Through joy, through sorrow, through wounds so deep. They ask for nothing, yet give their all, The first to rise, the last to fall. A love so pure, so rare to find, Written not in fate, but in the mind. Blessed am I, in joy and strife, To walk with you, hand in hand, through life. Daya Nair 🙏

A Soul Unheard

She stood with a heart, open and bare, But his words were daggers, slicing the air. Not in shouts, nor in fights loud and wild, But in silence that crushed, cold and defiled. Like a pot turned upside down, sealed tight, No matter her plea, no matter her fight. Her innocence lay, unheard, unseen, Drowned in shadows where truth had been. Her watering eyes became his delight, A silent victory in the dead of night. He wove his stories, twisted and spun, And they believed the damage was done. What is pain, if not this slow decay? A body that breathes, but fades away. For death is kinder, swift and bright, But to live unloved is endless night. DayaNair
